About me:

Niamh is a trauma-informed psychotherapist supporting children (aged 5+), teenagers and adults. Her educational background includes a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Youth Studies, followed by a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Currently pursuing a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy, Niamh is deeply engaged in primary research exploring how those diagnosed with ADHD during adulthood can benefit from psychotherapeutic support, and emphasises the importance of including formal training regarding neurodiversity in therapist training. Her research underscores her commitment to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of her clients. Complementing her formal education, Niamh has pursued additional training in various specialised areas, including child psychology, sexual violence, trauma, and play therapy.

Beyond ADHD and neurodiversity, NIamh’s professional interests include psychological comorbidities of long-term chronic illness (an area she extensively explored for her FYP during her undergraduate studies), trauma-informed care for survivors of sexual violence, and supporting individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community.

As an integrative therapist, Niamh draws from a range of modalities including psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)/Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). This eclectic approach allows her to tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
