About me: I am a fully accredited with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy and the
Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland.
I am trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and have also undergone training in Jungian
therapy and Systemic therapy. I have continued to undertake additional training including in
the areas of Trauma, Identity and Neurodiversity (e.g., autism, aspergers, ADHD and
dyslexia).
I take a psychoanalytically informed approach to helping you work through problems and
issues. This approach is based on the experience of Sigmund Freud who was an early
pioneer of what came to be know as the Talking Cure. Freud who was a medical doctor,
found that allowing his patients to speak freely about their suffering gave them relief and
understanding. I also offer supportive psychotherapy for neurodiverse individuals. I am also
interested in working with people experiencing disturbing dreams, nightmares and recurring
dreams or if you are interested in unravelling the meaning of your dreams.
I offer a safe space to speak freely about whatever is on your mind. In this therapeutic setting
you can integrate past and current events that you find traumatic and perhaps have never
spoken of previously. It opens the possibility to speak of the previously unsayable.
Prior to working as a therapist I worked in a management position in business and also as a
lecturer and manager in higher education for many years.
