About me:

Michael Daly received a BA (Honours) degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) in 2019, and is an accredited member of IACP who works in accordance with that organisation’s code of ethics. Prior to this, he worked in IT and language education in Japan, Italy, the UK and elsewhere.

As part of his degree course, Michael was trained in Person-centred Psychotherapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA), CBT, Attachment Theory and Trauma Focused Therapy, and uses aspects from all of these modalities in his clinical work. Since gaining his degree, Michael has completed training in Existential Therapy, suicide prevention, healing from childhood emotional neglect and working existentially with autism. He also lectures in Psychodynamic Therapy for MTU.

Since most research shows that a good counsellor/client relationship leads to better outcomes overall, Michael strives to meet each client with a caring, authentic, and non-judgmental attitude. He believes that each person has the freedom to choose from a range of actions at any given time, and with focused attention to the mind, body, and the world around us, people can discover healthier ways of living that best suit their personality and circumstance.

He offers online counselling to individuals over the age of 18, in English, over the short and long-term.
