About me:

Liz McLean an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She holds a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College. Liz is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Liz has worked as a therapist in several community-based counselling services in a variety of areas. Through this work she has gained experience in working with bereavement, loss, relationship and family difficulties, domestic abuse, general anxiety and health anxiety.

While coming from a humanistic and person-centred approach Liz works in an integrative manner to suit the individual needs presented by each client. Liz uses brief solution focused therapy tools and CBT tools where appropriate. For Liz, the most important work of the counsellor is to create a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space to enable to clients to feel comfortable to explore their issues.

Liz believes in the importance of continuing professional development as a therapist and has completed many short courses on various topics including mindfulness and neurodiversity.
