In her work with clients Daiva uses an integrative approach combining elements of various therapies: IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), AEDP (Level 2), Narrative Therapy. Her approach is largely informed by neuroscience, attachment and developmental theories, mindfulness and compassion based approaches.
Daiva holds the view that people seek therapy guided by their feelings of stuckness, anxiety, numbness, despair. In these moments, they often look out into the world and try to change everything and everyone so they can feel better. This is true for all of us. However, in therapy, with a presence of attuned and non-judgmental therapist, there is a possibility to look inside and focus on ourselves.
Daiva strongly believes that deep down every single person knows the answers. However, due to various reasons they have not allowed themselves to fully feel and want what they need or even to begin to imagine that life could be different. Together with the therapist, a person begins to explore what their needs are; what is missing in their lives that they would like to be there; what are the steps, however small at first, they can take towards what is more nourishing in their lives.
