Vincent Ryan is a qualified psychotherapist having completed an honours degree in counselling & psychotherapy in the Cork Institute of Technology. This training is approved by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). With a long-standing interest in personal development, Vincent sets out to meet, respect and support clients where they find themselves and with the personal goals they have for themselves. He believes that everyone holds the capacity for growth and self-healing, when given the space to explore their experience and difficulties in an atmosphere of safety and trust.
During his training Vincent worked for two years as a psychotherapist as part of the HSE mental health team in Mallow, Co. Cork. Additionally, he holds a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy from UCD and a Master’s Degree in CyberPsychology from IADT. Continued professional development and evidence-based practice are central to how he works. He offers a non-judgmental and empathic space to his clients, combined with a client-centred, responsive and personalised blend of therapeutic approaches. He believes this can provide the necessary conditions to create an effective therapeutic relationship, within which change and personal growth can be explored. He is available for both short-term and long-term work.
Vincent’s humanistic and integrative approach includes a blend of Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-Informed Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment and Mindfulness.
