Ursula hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences and is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Ursula has also completed training on trauma, motivational interviewing, compassion and mindfulness, interventions for alcohol and substance misuse, and suicide prevention (Assist and Safe Talk)
Ursula has worked in the field of addiction since 2016 and has extensive experience working with clients who have experienced trauma. Dependent on the needs of the client, and in a person-centred way, Ursula draws on a variety of therapeutic frameworks which include psychodynamic therapy, compassion and mindfulness techniques, motivation interviewing, harm reduction and/or relapse prevention skills.
Ursula believes given the right environment and a trusting relationship, a therapist can provide a safe space for a client to explore their world, increase self-awareness and develop a healthier psychological, emotional and physical lifestyle.
Ursula is available for short- or long-term work with individuals over 18 years experiencing:
Co-dependency or family members affected by addiction
