About me:

Sinéad O’Brien is a qualified Psychotherapist having completed a B.A (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy at Cork Institute of Technology. This course is approved by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) of which Sinéad is a pre accredited member.

Sinéad’s journey to studying and working as a Psychotherapist was born through overcoming her own difficulties and life experiences. Sinéad believes that everyone holds a huge capacity for self-healing, when given the space to explore their life and difficulties with the right type of support.

Sinéad uses a person-centred and integrative approach in her work and is focused on creating a safe and trusting space for her clients to explore difficult feelings. She believes that by being non-judgmental, empathic and present to her clients she provides the conditions necessary to develop an effective therapeutic relationship. The exploration of meditation and bodywork to assist clients on their own healing journey forms part of Sinéad’s work. Sinéad is available for both short and long term work.

Sinéad offers a number of approaches in her work including Person Centred Approach, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.
