Qualifications/Background: Shauna McNamara has completed two degrees within the counselling field. She has a Bachelors degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Counselling and Youth studies; Both obtained by ICHAS Limerick. Shauna has completed adequate training programmes in suicide intervention. Shauna works with youth/adolescence as well as adults. She works on an individual basis and in a group setting.
Shauna creates a safe therapeutic space in which to help encourage self-awareness and personal growth. Shauna is passionate about her client’s needs and tailors her sessions based on the client’s needs. Shauna uses Mindfulness and CBT to increase one’s self-awareness through mindfulness and integrates it with CBT techniques to challenge beliefs and thinking patterns.
Shauna is a member of British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She is also a member of the International Association of Youth Mental Health.
