About me:
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, BA (hons) Degree in Psychology.
Approaches: Psychoanalytic; Psychodynamic; Humanistic
Sarah Traynor undertook a BA (hons) Degree in Psychology and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from DBS. As part of her continuous professional development, she is engaged in a Special Modality Training Programme of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Sarah is also a pre-accredited member of APPI (Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland).
Sarah is available for both short term and long term therapy with adult clients. Her aim is to provide a safe environment where clients can speak freely in a non-judgemental atmosphere. Sarah considers the entirety of the person, not only what is happening on a conscious level, but also at an unconscious level. The work offers the possibility of exploring difficult experiences, distressing thoughts, anxieties and inhibitions. Sarah’s focus is mainly psychoanalytic oriented which privileges each client’s singularity as well as the unconscious.
Offering a safe space where each client has the freedom to speak without restraint allows for the creation and discovery of new and less painful ways of dealing with the issues and symptoms the client may present with. Psychotherapy can help those who are troubled, suffering from distressing symptoms or have encountered life difficulties. Sarah deals with a wide range of symptoms in her practice that include but are not limited to anxiety, addiction, sexuality, eating disorders, loss, etc.
