About me:
Samantha gained her BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences in 2010. She is registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and makes it her priority to continue personal and professional development.
Samantha uses an eclectic and integrative approach to therapy. This allows her to adapt to the unique needs of each client. Samantha emphasizes the importance of developing a healthy rapport and developing trust between both parties through a non-judgemental, safe environment. This allows the client to explore issues, discuss possible options, talk about and work through difficult situations that may be impacting lives, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.
Samantha is a firm believer in arming the client with information and an understanding of their experiences e.g. cause and effect in order to strategize, develop and practice relevant coping skills.
A problem shared is a problem halved and having a platform to discuss matters can help to make sense of what is being experienced. By working together, both client and therapist can help to provide the necessary techniques and tools to suit the needs of the client so they can be utilized outside of the therapy room should a situation arise.
