About me:
Approaches: Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist
Qualifications: Ruth holds a BA from DIT, H. Dip in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an MA in Psychotherapy from DBS. She is a certified associate with IAHIP and is working towards her accreditation with them. Ruth has also completed courses/workshops in working with childhood sexual abuse, and working therapeutically with issues around pornography.
Working from a person-centred base, Ruth draws on her training in psychodynamic and Integrative psychotherapy to work collaboratively with her clients. Understanding that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy, Ruth draws on her varied theoretical trainings and approaches to work with each client’s individual needs. This approach helps to facilitate clients to better understand themselves, their attachments, and the roots of their patterns and behaviour, so that they can discover better ways to face the challenges in their lives.
Ruth works with adults and is available for both short-term and long-term work.
Ruth aims to create a safe and facilitative therapeutic space, where the client feels free from judgement to explore, examine, and work through that which concerns them. For Ruth, the relationship between therapist and client is integral to the work.
