Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) , Person-Centred Therapy
type of services:
Robert holds a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP and a B.Sc. (Mgmt) from Trinity College Dublin and is a Pre-Accredited Member of Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
Robert always begins from the person-centred approach. This allows the client to lead and go at their own pace and it makes sure that what is important to them is kept at the heart of the work. Robert has been trained in integrative counselling and psychotherapy which means he can draw on many different approaches depending on what the client wants and how they would like to work. If specific goals are identified, Robert will usually use CBT methods to address them before returning to his overall person-centered approach.
Robert believes counselling and psychotherapy is about listening and understanding. He has frequently found that clients already have the answers they seek; they just need someone to really listen to them and hear them to help them bring them out. He sees his role as supporting his clients on their journey by being present and listening actively with empathy and without judgement. He holds client safety as his primary obligation and he practices in accordance with the IACP code of ethics.
Robert works with adults and is available for both short term solution-focused work and long term work.
