Penelope’s clinical experience during the last number of years spans across a broad range of settings working in hospitals, prison services, schools, health care companies, and addiction treatment centres.
Her aim is to provide a safe environment where clients can speak freely and with no judgement about any issues they may present. Penelope’s focus is mainly psychoanalytic oriented, which takes into consideration a person’s unconscious. The work focuses on helping and aiding the client into developing self-awareness and awareness into past experiences, and explore how it affects the client in the present. With this understanding, the client can develop tools and skills for coping and repairing themselves and live a more fulfilling life.
Penelope Di Palma engages in ongoing professional development through cartel study groups with both ICLO (Irish Circle for Lacanian Orientation) and ISLP (Irish School for Lacanian Psychoanalysis), and attends conferences and seminars. She is also engaged in her own supervision.
