Nicola Hallissey has a BA(Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from CIT , and is currently studying for a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy also with CIT. She is a Pre-accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and as such, she adheres to their Code of Ethics.
Nicola is interested in providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where her Clients can explore what is bothering them, and to help them to understand and identify different ways of coping, reconciling & moving forward.
Nicola works in a Humanistic and Person Centred way which means that it is her core belief that her Client has all of the answers and resources within themselves to overcome hardship, pain & despair. She works in a collaborative way with her Client’s to support them through their issues and encourages self-compassion and courage in identifying the changes they want to make to improve their life & relationships, in a way that respects their own uniqueness and wisdom. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, Nicola draws from a wide range of theoretical input, offering diverse approaches such as Gestalt, Person-Centred, Internal Family Systems, Attachment, Trauma & CBT.
Nicola is available to work with Adults (18+) for both short term, solution focused therapy as well as longer term explorative work.
