About me:
Qualifications: HDip Counselling & Psychotherapy, MA in Psychotherapy
Lorraine is a psychotherapist with a person-centred training. Her training was a HDip in Counselling & Psychotherapy and an MA in Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School. Lorraine is a fully accredited member of IAHIP. Lorraine primarily does long term work but can do short term or solution focused work also, particularly for crisis situations or trauma recovery. The uncovering work of psychotherapy is the main tool that she uses in the room. However, as well as linking past structures and systems with current behaviours, she also utilises tools to allow her clients greater control over behaviours and current anxieties. This is with a view that it may help a client in their current life situations. She works one on one with individual adults.
Lorraine has experience and an interest in birth trauma and post natal depression. Working with clients in this area involves solution focused work, though it has been found to often lead to long term uncovering work.
Lorraine believes that every person holds their own key to the best mental health that they can have. She holds empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard at the centre of her therapeutic philosophy and considers it a privilege to sit with clients as they make their journey in therapy.
Lorraine works with a wide variety of issues including:
