Qualification: Karine graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Cork Institute of Technology.
Approach: Karine's training and experience helps her to provide a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy with a strong emphasis on creating a therapeutic relationship to help promote self-awareness and support clients to explore, in a secure & non-judgmental space, a varied range of difficulties.
As a therapist, Karine aims to provide her clients with a confidential and safe environment, in which they can gain insight in the issues or difficulties that are causing them distress or worry. For some this may result in having to make difficult changes in their life, or finding constructive ways to deal with a situation that, at present, seems beyond their control or too hard to adjust to. Karine truly believes that in developing a collaborative working alliance with her clients, she can support them in developing and nurturing the self-agency and resilience they may require to manage such life changes.
As a practitioner, she offers a holistic approach to therapy, through the practice of core concepts such as Person-centered, Gestalt, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems.
Karine is available for short term or long-term therapy.
Karine is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P.) and adheres to their code of ethics, engaging in regular and ongoing supervision.
Karine works with adults and young adults (17+) presenting with a wide range of issues such as:
