Karen has an extensive career helping people within the healthcare setting. She has a keen interest in supporting those struggling with mental health issues. Karen has a degree in nutrition and dietetics, a conversion degree in psychology, and more recently a degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from CIT. She is pre accredited IACP member.
As a trauma informed therapist, an intuitive eating trainer, an SSP practitioner, she is also a level 2 Gottman couples counsellor. This makes her uniquely trained in relational, complex trauma and eating disorder issues.
Karen uses a person-centred and integrated approach in her work, creating a safe, and trusting space for her clients. Being non-judgmental, empathic and present to her clients is her core value, supporting development of a strong therapeutic alliance.
Karen integrates Person Centred Approach, Gestalt, Ego states, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and compassion focussed mindfulness.
