About me:

Jackie Graham holds a B.A.(Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Cork Institute of Technology, an approved course by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and is a fully Accredited member of the IACP. Jackie also holds Certificates in Positive Psychology, Mindfulness and Transgender Equality(TENI). She is also trained in Suicide Prevention, Safe Talk and Assist and has completed the SAOR, Brief Intervention for Alcohol and Substance Misuse. Jackie’s background is in Sales and Marketing and has a good understanding of workplace stress and work life balance.

Since October 2015, Jackie is an AWARE facilitator, facilitating peer support groups for people experiencing anxiety, depression and mood-related disorders via face to face meetings and most recently online. Jackie has also been working part-time in a secondary care mental health daycare facility since November 2017.

Jackie’s approach to therapy is an Integrative Humanistic approach, which emphasizes meeting you where you are uniquely in your life, providing a safe secure space where you can explore what you bring, being supported, respected and met, through mutually building the therapeutic relationship. Jackie believes the therapeutic relationship is central to the work, the outcome of therapy and is the catalyst for change for the client. She believes that every client is unique, every session is unique and integrates her learning and life experience to provide a different therapy for each client.

In her work, she draws from a variety of methodologies including Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, Existential, Attachment, Childhood/ Developmental Trauma, Shock Trauma, Mindfulness and Breath Work, Compassion Focused Therapy as well as systems based approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy, brief therapy with goals to solve the issue. Jackie has found that integrating psycho-education in her work is insightful and empowering for the client.

Jackie is available for both long and short-term work with adults over 18.
