Chris is an Integrative Therapist and also uses Pluralistic techniques to assist in ascertaining the most suitable therapy to meet presenting needs. Chris pays particular attention to the relational aspect of therapy to support the therapeutic process. He has worked with a varied range of people and presenting issues and focuses on creating a safe and supportive relationship for positive and constructive therapy.
Chris has worked with people with Substance Misuse issues and with families living with the impact of Substance Misuse for 20 years, is an Accredited 5 Step Method Practitioner, a Psycho-educational Programme designed specifically to reduce levels of stress when experiencing Substance Misuse in the home and Chris is also an accredited Community Reinforcement Approach/Family Therapy Therapist which uses the principles of Operant Conditioning to explore the reward relationship with the substance, either from the perspective of the person involved with substance misuse or the family experiencing the impact.
Chris has also worked in the Care Sector and is well versed in organisational culture and the challenges involved. Chris has training in Leadership in Equality and uses this perspective to support learning and insight into stressful or unhealthy work relationships.
With a small private practice since 2017 as a platform Chris has worked with a variety of presenting issues, including Grief and Loss, Anxiety, depression, Sexuality to name but a few, and welcomes any opportunity to work with individuals looking to resolve lifestyle, emotional or mental health challenges.
Chris is available for short-term or long-term therapy, determined by the needs of the individual presenting.
