About me:

Annette Homan is currently completing a B.A (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy at Cork Institute of Technology, which is accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Annette’s approach draws on concepts from a Humanistic, Integrative approach which includes Gestalt, Person-Centred Therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems), as well as aspects of Mindfulness.

Annette believes that our past experience shapes our current way of being in the world. She believes that creating a solid relationship with her clients is the most effective way for clients to safely explore their issues. Annette also applies various theoretical concepts to help the client to find meaning in their current situation. She believes in the capacity of each individual to access the inner resources and resilience to affect change in their life when given the empathy, compassion and supportive space to do so.

Her integrative, client-centred approach recognises the uniqueness of each individual and this enables her to work collaboratively with the client, at their pace, to explore and resolve their issues.

Annette works with adults on a short, medium or long-term basis on issues such as:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Self-Criticism/Low Self-Worth
• Self-Care
• Stress
• General Counselling
