Anna Kocon obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology with the Clinical Specialty at Opole University, Poland. She is also a member of Psychological Society of Ireland. She has worked with children with serious illnesses and their families, as well with people who suffer from mental disorders, addictions and homelessness. In her practice she has also had the opportunity to work with grieving parents and siblings.
As a psychologist she tries to connect different approaches to find the best way to help her clients. However, the most important is for her to create a safe and confidential space, where her clients will be able to share their emotions and thoughts in open and warm atmosphere without being judged. She sees therapy as a process of getting to know yourself better, as a journey in search of your own needs, possibilities, goals and dreams. She believes that everyone can find their own way to achieve happiness and live in harmony with themselves.
Following the words of Goethe, she truly thinks that “if you will treat a human being as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he could be, he will become what he could be.”
