About me:

Aideen provides a humanistic client centred approach, meeting others with the belief that they have within themselves the potential for healing, growth, change and resilience through life’s more difficult challenges.

Her integrative approach combines creativity with psychodynamic including jungian perspectives. Aideen offers tools for the self regulation of difficult emotions incorporating somatic approaches including mindfulness techniques and focus orientated art therapy (FOAT). She aims to provide a safe, gentle, non judgemental space that places an emphasis on the here and now of what may arise in the session. Aideen offers a variety of approaches based on the individual needs of each client with a focus on personal insight to facilitate change and where the need is expressed, the spiritual development of the client.

Aideen will guide you through the art therapy process which can offer the transformative potential to reach places of depth where initially no words may even exist. No art making experience is needed, the emphasis is on the individuals process rather than the final product.

Aideen holds a degree in Social Sciences (Hons) UCD and a MA in Art Therapy (Hons) CIT. She is an accredited member of IACAT (Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists) adhering to their code of ethics. She has over 12 years experience working with children and young people including her work in residential care services. Aideen also has experience working in cancer and hospice care for both children and adults and has presented her work at International conferences. She also works with early pregnancy loss and stillbirth bereavement services, addiction treatment services and lectures on the UCC short course in Art therapy.
