About me:
Agapi is a qualified integrative psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychotherapy from Dublin City University (DCU) and a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP). She is trained to conduct Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Systemic and Couples Therapies. Depending on the individual and the distress presenting in therapy, Agapi can integrate a variety of techniques and/or different approaches with the objective of bringing about change and relief.
Agapi does individual therapy, couples therapy (including psychosexual therapy) and family therapy. She can offer either short-term or longer-term therapy, depending on the presenting issue. Agapi is fully fluent in both English and Greek and can offer therapy in either language, as appropriate.
Agapi believes that therapy is a helpful means for resolving current and/or past issues which may affect people and constrain their ability to lead a fully functional, satisfying life. She has a special interest in psychotherapy for older adults and the specific mental health issues which can present in older age, such as late-life depression, the mental anguish associated with illness, chronic pain or disability, complicated grief and loss, addiction, and the issues that age-related dementia can present for older clients (and their carers and family).
