Linda’s training and theoretical approach is humanistic and integrative meaning that she draws on whatever approach is appropriate to suit the individual needs of the client facilitating self-awareness and growth. Linda believes this growth can free a client from the limitations of old patterns enabling a client to become better at coping with life’s difficulties and allowing a more realistic satisfaction of life to emerge. Linda’s commitment being to ensure that every client she sees receives an excellent therapeutic service in a warm and respectful environment enabling each person to explore what is troubling them at their own pace. She has extensive experience working with clients impacted by bereavement, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, addiction, suicidal ideation and relationship difficulties.
Fundamentally, Linda believes that the relationship between Therapist and client is key for effective therapy and is influenced by the works of Carl Rogers who writes “It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried… the gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathetic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.”
