Approaches: Integrated Reality Therapy and Person Centred Therapy, Mindfulness, and Humanistic.
Laura O’Brien has a Grad Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP, Dublin, a M.A. in Gender Studies from the University of Limerick and a B.Sci. in Biology from Marymount College, New York. Laura has experience working in the voluntary and statutory sector supporting people with a range of issues. She provides a safe non-judgemental confidential space for clients. The client sets the pace of the therapy, but Laura believes that since the client comes to the sessions seeking help then challenge is often part of the therapy as well as empathetic listening. Laura works from a compassionate aspect and affords clients respectful time to explore their issues and to learn coping skills and hopefully plan for a future. Laura sees adults over 18 years on a one to one basis and she also facilitates couples counselling.
