Ines Hasenfuss obtained the advanced Diploma in Adolescent Gestalt Therapy awarded through the Blackfort Institute for Adolescent Gestalt Therapy, based on a BScHons in Psychology and BAHons in Counselling and Psychotherapy, awarded from the Open University and Cork Institute of Technology. Her professional foundation is in nursing and she has also completed a Higher Certificate in Gestalt Theory and the Advanced Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). She is accredited member with IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy) IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and the EAP (European Association of Psychotherapy). Ines is also a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society) and Bord Altranais.
Ines’s therapeutic approach follows that a trustworthy relationship develops, where the client can express and explore emotions, difficulties and needs, in the hope to better understand conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The wish for change and learning she views with respect and aims to facilitate. It is her wish to offer a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment,
Therefore her approach is person-centred and integrative, drawing from concepts of Rogers, Self psychology, Gestalt, existential and developmental psychology in the exploration of presenting issues.
The Advanced Higher Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Adolescent Psychotherapy enables her to work with young adolescents. Her hope is to be able to facilitate adolescents and their families to address problems, like lack of social integration, problems in school, identity and belonging, family relationships, stress, bullying, as well as conflict situations going across all generations of the family.
Based on her medical background, Ines has gained experience in the therapy relating to chronic pain, long-term illness and infertility and birth related health problems.
