Fionnula has had the privilege of supporting individuals in a variety of educational and community settings. She likes to work collaboratively with her clients and believes that a safe therapeutic space can empower individuals to activate their own resources, as well as develop new skills for enhanced and meaningful living. Fionnula has a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and a Masters in Guidance Counselling. She has advanced clinical skills in Compassion Focused Therapy and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST).
In her professional work Fionnula takes an Integrative approach influenced by Person Centred Therapy, using the most appropriate methods for the person seeking support. She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, adheres to the IACP code of ethics, and participates in both group and individual supervision.
