Qualification:Masters of Arts in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Em offers both counselling and complementary therapies. Em Ryan is an American trained psychotherapist and fully accredited by the National Board of Certified Counsellors from 2003 and the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy from 2016. She is skilled in CBT as well as Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction along with several other therapies. Em earned her Masters Degree from The College of New Jersey and has been a practicing counsellor since 2003. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Fordham University in French, Spanish and Marketing. Em was a secondary school educator from 1993 to 2003. Em is also a Sound Therapist about to complete her Level 2 Practitioner’s Certificate with the Sound Healing Academy based in Cornwall, England. She plans to begin her coursework to become a Counselling Supervisor in 2020.
Em provides trauma-informed individual therapy for a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, addictions, domestic violence, relationship issues, career and life transitions and self-esteem. She is available to work with clients aged 16+ short or long term. Em is also functionally fluent in French and Spanish and has counselled clients from The Dominican Republic, Spain, Puerto Rico, France, Canada, America and beyond. Her therapy style is warm, emphatic and directive. Em has helped motivated clients aged 5 to 75 meet their therapy goals and feel better.
In her spare time, Em travels the world, performs in a Samba Band, meditates regularly and enjoys walking along the seaside.
