Approach: Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy
Dorothea Hyneck was born in Germany but has been living abroad for almost a decade. While moving across countries and cultures, she had the opportunity to explore the diversity of human´s nature and to study what contributes to emotional well-being.
Dorothea holds a Master’s degree in Psychology with specialisation in Clinical and Health Psychology from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium). She is currently specializing in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Dublin Business School and her work is under constant supervision.
Dorothea gained significant experience working especially with children and adolescents across different countries. In her work, she understood that mental health problems are often related to specific life events or circumstances. She therefore always tries to discover, together with her clients, what lies beyond the symptoms and she helps them find the strengths required to cope with similar challenges in the future.
Dorothea believes that every person, irrespectively of the background, is precious and should have someone ready to listens to his or her story. Careful and non-judgmental listening has healing power by itself and it forms an important part of her therapeutic approach.Dorothea Hyneck is specialized in working with children and adolescents and her areas of experience include:
- Obsessive-compulsive behaviour
- Self Harm
- Low self-esteem
- Low self-acceptance
- Low self-care
