Approaches: Person Centred, Humanistic, Mindfulness.
Claire Forde holds a BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from ICHAS. Claire has also completed the Advanced Suicide Intervention Skills Training and also has a Certificate in Bereavement Support Education Programme from Milford Hospice, Limerick. As a counsellor/psychotherapist Claire abides by the core conditions set out by Carl Rogers regarding Person Centred Counselling, i.e., empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. Clients come for counselling because they are seeking change and Claire provides a safe and confidential space wherein they can explore and identify the areas in their life that need to be addressed in order for this change to occur. During this journey together, they find the courage to be, and learn how to embrace their truth and live authentic lives. Occasionally, Claire employs concepts from other approaches such as CBT and Gestalt to enhance this change and growth. (eg Empty Chair ). Claire believes every person has a right to affordable and easily accessible counselling.
Claire abides by the Code of Ethics as laid down by MyMind and also by APCP.
