Marta O'Connor, Clinical Manager 

     

Area of expertise: Psychology, Psychotherapy, Clinical Management, Mandatory Reporting, Suicide Intervention and Prevention, GPDR

Marta holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a major in Clinic Psychology, graduating from the University of Opole, as well as numerous diplomas and certificates in areas of specialization.

During her career, Marta acquired experience in numerous fields and they all centred around the theme of helping people. While studying at the University she worked as an Assistant Psychologist in an Acute Psychiatric Ward, in the same year Marta interned in the Association Supporting Psychosocial Integration of the Mentally Ill in Lisbon. She also worked as an Assistant Psychologist in a Diagnostic and Therapeutic Centre where she supported people with a variety of mental health diagnosis.

Since relocating to Ireland in 2016, Marta has worked with a number of national mental health services; including MyMind where she practised as a counselling psychologist. Marta has also worked with Pieta House, where she supported those experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harming and suicide bereavement. In 2021 Marta rejoined the MyMind team as Clinical Manager of the organisation.

Marta is a registered Psychologist, holding a membership from the Psychological Society of Ireland and attends regular supervision sessions as a part of her ethical commitment to her work.

Marta is delighted to be part of MyMind team, helping in its mission to provide affordable and accessible mental health services across Ireland. She believes that her passion for therapeutic and clinical work can be a great asset to MyMind in this journey.
