Limerick Mental Health Week

The official start of Limerick Mental Health Week is on Sunday 9th of October, there will be a large amount of exciting events and festivities to increase the awareness of mental health in Limerick and Ireland.

To kick off Limerick Mental Health Week, the first event will be the SMRC Urban Run 5k/10k which will be taking place at 1pm at St.Michael’s Rowing Club with our very own MyMind Limerick Manager Michelle O`Connor taking part to help raise awareness and to encourage everyone to get involved.

Comedian Karl Spain, who is the ambassador for the week, will helping to host the launch ceremony at 6pm in King John`s Castle. MyMind members will be present there also and hope to see everyone from Limerick willing to get involved in the festivities and to get a great start to a week filled with mental health awareness events.

After the opening ceremony the entertainment moves across from King John`s Castle to the North Munster Masonic Centre for the opening of the Reflections Art Exhibition, this will give a chance for some socialising and networking with people from various backgrounds in Limerick City whilst appreciating some beautiful artwork.

We plan on keeping you all updated on the upcoming events so that there will be plenty of opportunities to take part in events in the coming week. Any further details can also be found at www.limerickmentalhealth.ie.

We will also be curating the Twitter page “People of Limerick” (@PeopleofLIMK) for the duration so be sure to follow us to keep up date on anything exciting happening around Limerick City!
